FOR PARENTS & GUARDIANS

The BUILD Fellowship

Bolstering an understanding of infrastructure, legislation, and delegation.

EMPOWERING PARENTS

The BUILD Fellowship equips parents and guardians with the knowledge and tools to self advocate, support the academic and behavioral needs of their children, navigate the complexities of public education at the school level, and agitate for the changes they seek in their neighborhood schools.

At the heart of The BUILD Fellowship lies an intricate understanding that parents play an outsized role in the long-term outcomes of their children. Because parents vary in their priorities, desires, needs, and experiences as related to education, there is often a gap in access to the fundamental understanding of how to maneuver within complex systems, structures, and networks.

Fellows in this cohort-based program will explore broad themes around legislation, power, influence and direct action; collectively they will design and deploy a remedy to a key challenge faced in their neighborhood school.
